Microsoft button is the office button at the top left corner of your document. This button is exactly like the file button it has the open folder, save, save as, print, preview, and of course the close button. The tabs on on the tool bar are the format, insert, font, you can also adjust it to how big or small you want your document to be. I think the page layout is where you can pick any of the item on there such as like the format or the insert tab to adjust your document the way you want it.
